eStyle Inc, an online retailer for women, has announced that it has named Carol A. Smith as its vice president, content. Formerly, Ms. Smith was founding Publisher and President/CEO of The Parenting Group. A specialist in magazine start-ups, re-launches and acquisitions, Ms. Smith will be responsible for defining the overall editorial direction of eStyle and its signature websites, as well as playing an integral role in the development of content partnerships and eventually spearheading the company's custom publishing initiatives.

``We're very pleased to have Carol join our team,'' says eStyle Founder and CEO Laurie McCartney. "With more than 20 years in the magazine publishing industry, Carol will be invaluable in helping us build the overall lifestyle brand awareness of eStyle, the premier online retailer for women.``

During Smith's 11-year tenure at The Parenting Group, she was the founding publisher of Parenting Magazine and built the magazine title into a multi-brand company, which was fully acquired by Time Inc. in 1990. Smith was promoted to President/CEO of The Parenting Group in 1993. She also was the founding publisher of Vibe, and served on the team that launched Martha Stewart Living.
