Ex-Boyfriend Alleges Clive Barker Gave Him HIV, Left Him Destitute

Posted on June 6, 2012

Horror writer Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Candyman) has been hit with a shocking lawsuit by his ex-boyfriend. TMZ reports that Emilian David Armstrong is accusing Barker of giving him HIV, then kicking him out of their shared home after years of being a couple.

Armstrong alleges that he was diagnosed with HIV in November, 1996. He said Barker tested positive and told Armstrong to go get tested. Armstrong alleges that Baxter engaged in relations with his AIDS-infected cousin and engaged in drug use that involved syringes. But it gets worse.

The lawsuit details Barker's supposed addiction to alcohol and drugs and a litany of abusive, depraved behavior. Armstrong alleges that he and Barker were also business partners and that he worked to create many of Barker's works with him, but never got paid. Armstrong said Barker promised to support him for life.

Barker has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
