Farmbid.com Plows the Web
Posted on September 27, 1999
Farmbid.com, an online agricultural community, has announced that it has signed-up over 45,000 registered farmers since its debut on July 13, 1999. Farmbid.com recently upgraded and expanded its service to include commodity news, weather forecasts, prices on futures contracts, information on herbs and even the latest barnyard jokes. In addition to conducting business-to-business transactions, Farmbid.com also offers its members an on-line chat community. The chat room allows people to swap stories, share advice, and even trade recipes.
"Farmbid.com's growth rate significantly increases everyday because more and more farmers are becoming aware of the site," said Ted Farnsworth, President and Founder of FarmBid.com. " Time is the most precious resource for a farmer and this site has been developed by farmers, who understand the unique needs of the agricultural community. FarmBid.com is a business-to-business model that can help farmers save time and money, find the tools and equipment they need, sell their surplus and obtain critical weather and market reports."
