Bess Lovejoy Investigates Fates of Famous Corpses in New Book

Bess Lovejoy provides interesting tales of what happened to famous people after they died in her book, Rest in Pieces: The Curious Fates of Famous Corpses. Some of the historical figures Lovejoy covers include Albert Einstein, Hitler, Mozart, Lord Horatio Nelson, Rasputin, Alexander the Great, Mussolin and Osama bin Laden.

What was done to some of these corpses seems macabe and bizarre by modern standards, but Bess explains that at the time these events took place it would not have been so odd. She says our fear of death create an intrigue and fascination about death and corpses. She says if you can "approach it with a bit of humor" it helps soften the fear of death a little. Take a look:
