Five Authors Selected as Candidates for Nobel Prize in Literature

Five writers have been selected as finalists for the 2013 Nobel Prize, but as usual the names have not been revealed. Speculation as to who made the list began after the Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy tweeted the news.

The Novel Prize for Literature is always shrouded in mystery. No one even knows the date that the winner will be revealed. That date is announced at a later time. The other Nobel Prizes are announced between October 7th and October 14th. Last year's winner was Chinese novelist Mo Yan.
