Gabourey Sidibe Inks Memoir Deal With Houghton Mifflin

Posted on June 3, 2015

Actress Gabourey Sidibe has inked a deal with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to write a memoir. Gabourey was nominated for Oscar for her work in the film Precious and is now appearing on the hit show Empire as Becky. Gabourey is pictured attending a screening of Empire at the Public Chicago Hotel in the above photograph.

Gabby is writing the book now: it will hit bookstores in 2017. As anyone knows who follows her on Twitter or who has seen one of her inteviews, she is extremely funny in real life. The new book will discuss Gaby's early life, he road to Hollywood and fame, and her struggles with depression.

Gabby has dealt with vicious and unfair criticism about her appearance with wit and style. When some Twitter commenters were unkind about her choice of gown at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, she tweeted this hilarious reply,"To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night."

Gabby is an excellent actress, but she also has a talent for writing. She said in a statement, "I've been writing since I was a child, and have always had so many stories to tell that are too long, shady, and impolite to share in interviews. She added, "It brings me much joy to add Published Writer to my resume of Actor and part-time Foot Model."

We can't wait to read her memoir when it comes out.
