GlobalStreams Launches Monthly Broadband Media Guide

Posted on May 22, 2000

GlobalStreams has announced the launch of GlobalStreams Magazine, a monthly print publication for high-speed Internet users. The broadband media guide features stories on the best broadband entertainment and media available on the Internet, listings of live and on-demand streaming content, product reviews and industry insight. GlobalStreams is partnering with high-speed Internet Service Providers to offer a free, co-branded version of the magazine to subscribers.

``The proliferation of dozens of broadband-access providers has created substantial choices for consumers to access the high-speed Internet. Simultaneously, streaming content websites serving niche audiences are creating unprecedented fragmentation within media,'' said GlobalStreams CEO Michael T. Rechan. ``GlobalStreams will cut through the clutter by offering high-speed users one brand they can trust for the best streaming content, regardless of delivery system. Today's launch of the magazine furthers our strategy to become the guide to streaming content for consumers - as well as a valuable partner for broadband access providers looking to serve and grow their existing subscriber base.''

The company is launching an online version of the media guide this summer that will be available across the spectrum of broadband access delivery systems by the fourth quarter of 2000. GlobalStreams is a Broadband Investment Group (BIG) portfolio company located in St. Louis, MO. The company is privately held.
