Good Fortune at the Box Office for Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events had good fortune at the box office in its opening weekend, bringing in $30.2 million and putting it in first place ahead of Ocean's Twelve and Spanglish, according to studio estimates released today.

The film based is based on the first three bestselling children's books by Lemony Snicket, who is actually author Daniel Handler. Snicket is played by Jude Law in the film, which has received mostly as you can see on Rotten Tomatoes.

Update: Lemony Snicket is now a TV series as well thanks to Netflix. The Netflix series is called A Series of Unfortunate Events.
