Good Omens Made Into Entertaining Mini-Series

Posted on August 1, 2019

Good Omens is a terrific novel from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. An angel and demon team up to stop the end of the world in the humorous fantasy tale.

The end of the world is foretold by The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, a book of prophecies that is described as being completely accurate.

Here's a brief description from HarperCollins:

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle-are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

Author Terry Pratchett told us an in interview that when he and Gaiman were on a book together they encountered an interviewer that had not read the book. The interviewer actually thought "The Nice and Accurate Predictions of Agnes Nutter" was the title of the book and that it was a nonfiction book about predictions!

Good Omens has been made into an entertaining six-part series for Amazon. The series stars Michael Sheen as Aziraphale and David Tennant as Crowley. The series is as great as fans could have hoped for and Sheen and Tennant are perfectly cast. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Here's the entertaining opening title sequence:
