Greta Van Susteren Writing Social Media Guide for Simon & Schuster

Posted on December 7, 2015

Greta Van Susteren has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster. The Fox News analyst and show host is writing a guide to best social media practices. The book is set to hit bookstores in Fall, 2017, but does not yet have title.

Greta was a legal analyst and host on CNN for 11 years, before Fox News stole her away in 2002. Her popularity has continued to grow: she is the host of On the Record, which is the highest rated cable news program in her time slot at 7:00 pm. Greta was an early adapter of social media and has more than 600,000 followers on Twitter. She interacts with fans and readers on her blog Gretawire.com and on Facebook where she has 750,000 fans. This year, Forbes magazine named her one of the world’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

Greta says she wrote the book to share her knowledge of social media, especially with adults many of whom have been left behind by the social media explosion. She explained, "Now, I know that most people don’t host a cable show, but millions use social media -- in all its many forms -- every day. And millions more want to and are trying to figure it out. Navigating the ever-changing world of social media isn’t always easy, but I've learned many helpful tips and tricks along the way . . . and you will, too. File this under No Adult -- that means you -- Left Behind."

The book will discuss how to engage an audience and get attention on social media, while deflecting the inevitable trolls and cranks. She says the book is aimed at a broad range of Internet users, from newbies to pros.
