Hachette Launches New Book Imprint Called Redhook

Posted on June 14, 2012

Hachette Book Group announced today that it will launch a new commercial fiction imprint. The new imprint will be called Redhook, and will be part of the Orbit publishing division. Redhook will publish print and ebooks in a number of genres.

Redhook is set for launch in April, 2013. The first title will be a sweeping historical epic called Hawk Quest. Written by Robert Lyndon, the novel is set in the 11th century. As it gears up, the imprint will publish one or two titles a month.

Tim Holman, SVP and Publisher of the Orbit division, had this to say about the project: "Our two existing imprints, publishing SF and Fantasy, and manga and graphic novels, were launched five years ago and are now well established. Redhook will help us grow the division and broaden our business and consumer relationships. Our highly focused acquisition strategy will be matched by original and individually tailored publishing strategies. Our goals will be to foster creative and friendly partnerships with all of our authors, and to make every one of them a bestseller."

Redhook is now taking submissions from agents and international publishers.
