HarperCollins' It Books to Publish No Holds Barred Memoir by Bob Saget

Posted on November 29, 2012

HarperCollins announced that has acquired the rights to a new book by comedian and actor Bob Saget. The book will be published by It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. Saget is best known for his roles on the hit tv shows Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos. But Saget is also well known for his more raunchy stand-up comedy routines and his cameo appearances in The Aristocrats and Entourage. The book will skew more towards Saget's darker, irreverent side. It's not for kids, certainly.

Executive Editor Mark Chait said about the book, "I've been dying to do a book with Bob ever since he almost made me p*ss my pants with laughter in The Aristocrats. It is now well-known that Bob Saget is very different from the neurotically conservative Danny Tanner character he played on Full House. With this book he truly lets it all hang outthe full monty of his crazy self, his dirty humor and unique personality."

Saget will reveal what really went on behind the scenes of Full House and will dish the dirt on his co-stars the Olsen twins and John Stamos. He'll also share tales about his friends and colleagues including Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Pryor and Don Rickles.

Chait explains, "I think what will surprise readers more than anything is how much of a mensch Bob really isfoul-mouthed and silly, yes, but with a heart of gold." Saget himself says of the project, "I've always thought there was a time and a place for filth and I'm honored that It Books agrees with me. Im very much excited about this project and look forward to giving the readers the most entertaining and thoughtful book I can writewith no holds barredexcept my own."

So, you've been warned. The book will be released in 2014.
