HarperCollins to Publish New Michael Crichton Novel

HarperCollins announced it will publish a new Michael Crichton novel, Micro, in November, 2011. The publication date is about three years after Crichton died of cancer .Crichton was about a third of the way finished with the novel . Author Richard Preston (The Hot Zone) helped finished the book using Crichton's notes.

USA Today reports that HapperCollins describes the book as "a high concept thriller in the vein of Jurassic Park." The plot involves a biotech company in Hawaii and a group of students stranded in the rain forest.

Richard Preston said in a statement, "Michael was writing at the top of his game, with a grand sense of adventure, into an eerie world that seems almost beyond imagining. For me, it was an irresistible challenge to finish the novel, and I was driven by a desire to honor the work and imagination of one of our time's most visionary and creative authors."
