Posted on November 3, 1999

HealthCentral.com, an online provider of healthcare content and e-commerce, has announced the launch of a co-branded website with The People's Pharmacy, a source of pharmaceutical and healthcare information services. Under this exclusive alliance, users of HealthCentral.com will have access to pharmacy-related content provided by Joe and Teresa Graedon, authors of The People's Pharmacy.

The Graedons, whose syndicated column appears three times weekly in over 100 newspapers across the country, have appeared on numerous television shows, including Oprah, Good Morning America and The Today Show, and their many books on drugs, drug interaction, and herbal remedies have sold millions of copies. The People's Pharmacy, the Graedons' first book, was published in 1976, and has sold more than two million copies.

This alliance provides visitors to HealthCentral.com with access to the drug database of The People's Pharmacy, and enables them to obtain information and update their personal health records. Additionally, the agreement provides HealthCentral.com with online rights to recent books by Joe and Teresa Graedon, including, The People's Guide to Deadly Drug Interactions, and their soon-to-be-released The People's Pharmacy Guide to Home and Herbal Remedies. HealthCentral.com will also feature weekly columns and newsletters from the Graedons, and visitors to the site will be able to hear excerpts from the Graedons' radio talk shows, which feature interviews with medical and pharmaceutical experts.

"We're very pleased to be announcing this alliance with HealthCentral.com," said Joe Graedon. "This extends the reach of The People's Pharmacy information and services throughout the HealthCentral Network, enabling consumers to access information on various aspects of health management so they can better equip themselves to make sensible, informed decisions about their health."
