Hearst New Media and AOL Interactive Services, the Internet online services division of America Online Inc., announced that the HomeArts Network, Hearst's online venture featuring original programming for women, will become an anchor tenant on AOL's Food and Home & Garden areas within AOL's Interests Channel (keyword: HomeArts). Under the agreement, HomeArts-branded articles and high-quality features about lifestyle and home issues, such as food, gardening and home improvement will be integrated into the programming of the Interests Channel.

The Hearst offering on AOL will include unique Web content developed for popular magazine brands like Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Town and Country, Marie Claire, House Beautiful and Cosmopolitan. Additionally, AOL's Food and Home & Garden sites will feature Hearst content such as the Recipe Finder, a comprehensive database that allows users to search over 3,500 recipes; the Hearst seasonal foods guide to the freshest seasonal foods; and History for Sale, House Beautiful's antique buying guide. Other HomeArts original content appearing on AOL includes the Gardener's Library, which will feature a Plant Encyclopedia with more than 1,000 entries, and the Handy Home Advisor interactive estimators which calculate quantities of materials needed for home renovations and repairs.
