Posted on February 28, 2014

The Association of American Publishers (AAP) announced that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the 2014 AAP General Annual Meeting in New York City on March 19th. The AAP is the largest national trade association for the US book and journal publishing industry.

Tom Allen, President and CEO, AAP, had this to say about the event: "Hillary Clinton's unprecedented public service has been marked by tireless commitment to improving learning, quality of life and opportunities for people worldwide. These are priorities shared by our member publishers and reflected in the high-quality works they produce. We are proud to have her address our community at our signature annual event."

Secretary Clinton is widely expected to run for President of the United States in 2016, although she has not announced her candidacy. She has a new memoir coming out this spring which will reflect on her experiences as Secretary of State. The memoir, which will be published by Simon & Schuster, will also address Mrs. Clinton's thoughts about the challenges facing the country and the world today. The former First Lady and Senator from New York has written four books, including including Living History and It Takes a Village. This subject of the AAP event is "The Next Chapter in Protecting IP: Policy, Disruption, Innovation and Sustainability."
