Honey Magazine Gets Makeover

Posted on February 9, 2000

Honey magazine, under the new ownership of Vanguarde Media Inc., will unveil its premiere book with a special March 2000 spring fashion issue featuring dual covers of Jennifer Lopez and D'Angelo. The revamped magazine will be available February 15th on newsstands. Published monthly, Honey is a fashion, entertainment and lifestyle magazine for young women.

"Knowing fashion, wanting to know it better and having a keen sense of style defines the Honeygirl, which is one of the reasons we chose to focus our first issue of Honey on fashion. This issue not only features an exclusive photo shoot with sexy singer D'Angelo in Giorgio Armani linen pajamas but it also profiles what every Honeygirl will want in her wardrobe for Spring 2000," said newly appointed Editor-in-Chief Asondra R. Hunter.

In the issue, Hunter talks with singer D'Angelo and talks about the making of his sophomore album, Voodoo. In "J-Lo On The Down Lo," Honey's Nancy Jo Sales explores the relationship between Jennifer Lopez and Bad Boy's Puff Daddy, as well as their recent legal problems. Other highlights of the issue include: "Top Ten Honeys on TV", "The Next Hot Teen Queen: Christina Aguilera", as well as "Vintage Honey", a historical perspective on the legendary Patti LaBelle.

Vanguarde Media Inc., founded in May 1999, is a multimedia company that acquires select urban interest magazines within, but not limited to, entertainment, music, and culture categories.
