9-Year-Old Writes Book Called How to Talk to Girls
Posted on December 3, 2008
9-year-old Alec Greven from Colorado has some advice for boys who want girls to like them in his book, How to Talk to Girls (HarperCollins). The book is currently ranked 76th on Amazon.com.
A New York Post article says Alec decided to write the book after he noticed boys in his schoolyard were having trouble getting girls to talk to them. He's surprised people are actually buying the book in bookstores.
Here are some of Alec's tips.
- Comb your hair and don't wear sweats
- Control your hyperness (cut down on the sugar if you have to)
- He believes the best way to approach a girl is to keep it to a simple "hi." "If I say hi and you say hi back, we're probably off to a good start," he said
- "The best choice for most boys is a regular girl. Remember, some pretty girls are coldhearted when it comes to boys. Don't let them get to you."
- Don't act desperate.
Alec is not dating because he says he is "a little too young." Somehow we don't think Alec is going to have any trouble getting a girlfriend when he's older. Alec talks to a New York Post reporter in the video clip below.
Alec's book is available for purchase on Amazon.com.
