Hyperion in Agreement with Latina Magazine to Publish Latina Beauty Book

Posted on December 8, 1999

Hyperion has reached an agreement with Latina, a bilingual magazine for Hispanic women, to publish a Latina beauty book, announced Martha K. Levin, vice president and publisher of Hyperion. Latina Beauty will be published in October, 2000.

Written by Latina magazine beauty editors and former beauty editor Belun Aranda-Alvarado, Latina Beauty will be a comprehensive guide to beauty written specifically for and by Latinas. The book will contain make-up, hair, fashion and general beauty information exclusively for the variety of hair, skin, face and body types of Hispanic women.

"Christy Haubegger and her incredible team at Latina have tapped into a hungry market that they knew was being ignored," said Levin. "Their celebration of Latinas has helped fan the flames of one of the most exciting phenomena that will help define what we think of as American culture in the next century. Latina Beauty will be the first book to fully evoke the unique spirit of Latinas."
