Hyperion to Publish Book by Navy SEAL Training Commander Rorke Denver

Posted on June 20, 2012

Hyperion has announced plans to publish a new book by Lieutenant Commander Rorke Denver and Newsday columnist Ellis Henican. The book, titled Damn Few: The Making of a SEAL Warrior, is scheduled for publication in January 2013.

Lieutenant Commander Denver has led hundreds of assault missions in Iraq and has run every phase of SEAL training over the past four years. He became the public face of the SEALs when he was chosen to star in the movie Act of Valor, which was based in part on his own SEAL adventures and made with unprecedented cooperation from the U.S. Navy.

In Damn Few, the SEAL commander traces his journey from competitive high-school athlete to lethal assault team leader. Denver will write about what it takes to become a Navy SEAL and how they've evolved in the post-9/11 world.

Denver says, "Everyone knows how tough SEAL training is. But very few people understand the powerful methods and psychology that can turn raw recruits into deadly commandos."
