IDG's Web Publishing Inc. has announced the launch of LinuxWorld magazine, a Web-only magazine supplying technical information to professional Linux users who are implementing Linux and related open source technologies in their computing environments.

LinuxWorld provides technical and strategic information to professional Linux users. The magazine features a mix of hands-on technical editorial, real-world cases of Linux in the enterprise, features, reader forums, product reviews, reader-submitted links, and guidance for making purchasing decisions.

"It's our goal to become an integral part of and vital resource for the Linux community. In addition to delivering first-rate technical content, LinuxWorld will provide an open discussion forum where members of the Linux community can further their understanding of technical issues," said Editorial Director Nicholas Petreley.
