IDG Launches GameStar Magazine In Germany

International Data Group (IDG), strengthened its international position with the announcement of its newest publication, GameStar Germany. IDG is a global publisher in the game industry, with eight publications worldwide including Game Software in Asia/Pacific; Attack Games Sweden, GamePro Greece, GameStar Germany, and Playstation Pro in Europe; Super Game Power Brazil in Latin America; and GamePro Magazine and PC Games in North America.

"GameStar has quickly become the leading publication in its category," said Kelly Conlin, president of IDG. "The publication's rapid success parallels the growth of the Home PC market in Germany, which is forecasted to experience 12% growth in 1998 reaching an installed base of over 10 million PCs."

GameStar is geared toward computer game players ages 14 to 28, with the heaviest readership concentration -- 38% -- in the 15 to 19 age bracket. GameStar editorial content focuses on the environment of PC games with a comprehensive editorial format that includes news, tips, tricks, and reviews of tests and games.
