Posted on March 30, 1999
IDG.net has announced the launch of a global website network dedicated to tracking computing issues and commentary related to the turn of the century. Year 2000 World, a new network of sites in six languages, will offer resources and content to users in every region of the world.
The six sites of Year 2000 World will be published continuously through February, 2000, in English, French, German, Spanish, Danish and Swedish. More languages will be added throughout the year. Special services -- such as discussion forums produced in partnership with RemarQ, and daily news from CNN Interactive -- will supplement the news, features and commentary drawn from the IDG Online Network.
"With 240 leading online publications in 55 countries, IDG.net is the only network that can offer a new technology publishing model that's both global and comprehensive," said Laurie Morgan, president IDG.net. "Our locally-produced content, from trusted brands like PC World, Computerworld, InfoWorld and Network World combine with Web-based services to yield a unique, global resource."
"IDG.net's current index of Year 2000 material includes more than 1,200 articles in English alone," continued Morgan. "With hundreds of articles in five other languages, Year 2000 World is easily the richest source of Year 2000 computing editorial on the Internet."
