IDG's InfoWorld Launches New Version of InfoWorld.com

Posted on June 14, 1999

InfoWorld, an IT newsweekly, has announced several enhancements to its website, previously known as InfoWorld Electric. The company decided to re-brand the site InfoWorld.com to reflect InfoWorld's brand recognition and loyalty among IT professionals.

InfoWorld.com will continue to feature content exclusive to the site including special news packages, columns and expanded reviews. For example, this week's special news package covers news and events at the JavaOne show in San Francisco. In addition, Dan Briody, InfoWorld editor at large, will write a weekly, online-only mobile computing column, which will also be available in e-mail format later this month.

"InfoWorld.com demonstrates our commitment to providing readers with the most in-depth technology information in an important business context," said Sandy Reed, editor in chief of InfoWorld. "By improving the navigation and search capabilities and adding expanded reviews, more online columns and personalized Forums, InfoWorld readers now have more resources to assist them in driving buying decisions and influencing company profitability."
