InfoWorld has appointed Dylan Tweney to content development manager. In this newly created position, Tweney will develop and implement new online services for InfoWorld Electric. Tweney will further develop InfoWorld's web strategy by establishing and building key development partnerships as well as obtain content sharing agreements.
"As InfoWorld's Net Prophet columnist for the past two years, Dylan has not only been writing about happenings in the Internet economy but also offering advice to companies on their web strategies. This unique experience makes Dylan the ideal candidate for this exciting new position," said Stephen Moylan, president and CEO of InfoWorld.
As well as authoring the popular Net Prophet column, Tweney was previously the Intranets and I-Commerce section editor. He will continue to write his column, but will no longer have any additional editorial responsibilities and will report directly to Mike Thomas, InfoWorld Electric's general manager.
"In his new role, Dylan will enhance InfoWorld Electric by developing a host of new products and services for readers of InfoWorld Electric," said Mike Thomas, general manager, InfoWorld Electric. "This new position underscores InfoWorld's commitment to the web and to providing readers and advertisers with a comprehensive online resource."
Tweney has been with InfoWorld for three years. He began writing the "Net Prophet" column in August of 1997. Prior to joining InfoWorld, he was associate editor at PC Computing and has been covering the Internet since 1993.
