IDG's PC World Reaches the One Million Subscriber Mark

Posted on February 23, 1999

PC World announced it has become the first monthly computer publication to reach one million paid subscribers. According to data from the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) Fas-Fax Report, for the six-months ending December 31, 1998, PC World declared an average of 1,000,453 paid subscribers per issue.

"PC World has consistently exceeded its rate base, which is a tribute to the quality of its editorial product and talented circulation team," noted PC World's publisher, Jeff Edman. "But PC World does more than provide added value and fulfill its promise to advertisers: PC World's circulation continues to come from its target reader, the PC-proficient manager. As IntelliQuest CIMS v5.0 shows, PC World increased its average issue audience reach to business influencers more than 17%, and added more management business influencers than any of the other 85 publications measured in both v4.0 and v5.0. It's a winning equation: PC World's natural circulation momentum, fueled by editorial excellence, builds the best environment for product marketing."
