International Data Group (IDG), an information technology media, research and exposition company, announced at PC Expo three new guides available on The Web Magazine Online.
The Web Magazine Online now offers What's On Now, a directory of chats, cybercasts, and other live events on the Web, created via a partnership with LiveWorld Productions. WEB Magazine editors highlight the best event each weekday, providing original reviews, recommendations, and commentary. Through daily previews, What's On Now steers surfers to the coolest places on the Web where they can hang out, listen to a concert or chat with favorite celebrities.
Greg Mason, publisher of The Web Magazine, says in a statement, "This is the best one-stop shop to get an immediate read on live events: surfers can see what's happening right now or preview upcoming events. Since the live capabilities of the Web are just emerging, this addition is critical to THE WEB Magazine's mission of being the preeminent guide to what's on and where to go on the Web."
The Web Magazine Online's second new content stream, What's New, gives surfers a look at the newest sites to hit the Web. The What's New section features new reviews each weekday of the most noteworthy sites just born on the Web.
The third main branch of The Web Magazine Online, Where To Go, links surfers to all of the 500 sites reviewed each month in The Web Magazine, including an archive of past issues. Web sites are reviewed in 16 different lifestyle categories including health, travel, computers, sports, music, politics, and art.
"Our editors' insightful reviews make the Web a more manageable place -- users will never have to type another URL again," Mason said.
