Imagine Media Inc. Acquires Iconocast

Posted on January 28, 1998

Imagine Media announced that it has acquired Iconocast, an email list and site for Internet advertisers and marketers. For Imagine, the acquisition of Iconcast is an important step in executing its new media strategy. One of the key content areas being targeted by the company is "Internet market intelligence," for which Iconocast will be a cornerstone.

"Michael has built a strong reputation as the Internet's leading market research guru," commented Imagine CEO Chris Anderson. "Iconocast is already a must-read for anyone interested in marketing and media in the late 1990's. We look forward to helping the brand realize its true potential."

Iconocast will continue to be edited by Tchong (founder of CyberAtlas, a market research Web site acquired in 1996 by I/PRO, and MacWEEK) who will assume the corporate title of Chief Information Architect.
