Instagram Adds Video Sharing Feature

Posted on June 20, 2013

Instagram has added video sharing, which has been rumored over the past few months. TechCrunch reports that Instagram is now offering videos that can be up to 15 seconds in length. This gives Facebook, which owns Instagram, a way to compete with video sharing providers, with Twitter's Vine service being the most directly targeted.

Instagram has published a FAQ and released a video about the new service. Android and iPhone apps can be used to record video on smartphones.
