iUniverse.com, Inc., an upstart technology firm has announced the launch of its publishing portal, iUniverse.com. iUniverse.com provides a service which publishes book titles in a paperback book format for established authors and aspiring writers. The service is provided free for out-of-print books.

"Our vision is to revolutionize publishing by changing the economics of the industry and expanding the opportunities for millions of writers and authors who have long been ignored by traditional publishers," said Richard Tam, President & CEO of iUniverse.com. "iUniverse.com empowers writers by giving them all the tools they need to get published and sell their books."

In addition to downloaded versions of books, iUniverse.com will also print and bind the actual book. iUniverse.com has attracted partners such as the Authors Guild, Ingram Book Group, Writer's Digest, Kinko's Corporate Document Solutions and Lightning Print, Inc.

"This seamless arrangement fully complements iUniverse.com," Tam said. "Respected writers groups give authors confidence in our services. And our state-of-the-art on-demand printing and distributing partnerships allow titles to be available in thousands of bookstores."
