Posted on October 5, 2015

Jennifer Weiner, bestselling novelist, essayist, feminist and sometime arch enemy of Jonathan Franzen, just inked a three book deal with Simon & Schuster's Aladdin imprint. Jennifer is entering the world of children's fiction with her first middle grade series.

The first book in the series is called The Littlest Bigfoot. It will be released in October, 2016. The book follows a girl named Alice Palmer. Alice is shy and awkward and doesn't have a lot of friends at the posh boarding school she attends. One day she rescues a girl named Millie from the lake. Millie has a secret: she's not human at all. She's a Bigfoot. But Millie likes hanging around humans or as her clan calls them, "No-Furs."

Alice and Millie become fast friends and set out on a journey to find a place where they both fit in. The duo encounters danger and adventure. The The Littlest Bigfoot is the first book in a projected trilogy that is sure to be entertaining.

Jennifer has sold more than 12 million books worldwide. She has stuck with Simon & Schuster ever since it published her first book, Good in Bed. Her latest #1 bestseller is Who Do You Love?. Jennifer has some great advice for writers on her website, and if you haven't read her essays for The New York Times, you are in for a treat.
