Jermaine Jackson and the Bizarre Book Proposal

Posted on March 10, 2006

Pop star Michael Jackson has even more trouble brewing for him. His brother Jermaine reportedly is shopping a tell-all book proposal which has some pretty damaging revelations in it.

In a transcript, submitted to a US publisher shortly after the 'Bad' singer's arrest in 2003, he wrote: "Does he really know what he does with these kids? "I don't want to tell you my brother's innocent. I am not certain that he is. He has a thing for young children."

Jermaine says he once even discovered Michael - who was last year found not guilty of child molestation - holding brother Tito's young sons in a "disturbing manner". The father-of-five also allegedly said the eccentric star's behavior towards his own nephews left his family "shaken". In the transcript, Jermaine also describes his fears for the singer if he was ever sent to prison. America's New York Daily News newspaper quotes him as saying: "Michael couldn't survive one day in prison - he would commit suicide."

In the eight-page proposal, the 51-year-old is also said to claim the Jackson family have protected his troubled sibling's image, suggests they were worried Michael was gay at the start of his career in the Jackson Five and believe he deliberately changed the color of his skin.

After reports of the book proposal were splashed all over the Internet, Jermaine then went on Larry King Live and denied that he is going to write a tell-all book about Michael. Jermaine said that the proposal was written by "the book's co-author, Stacy Brown, and that he may take legal action." Which is really strange. Jermaine made it sound like he was going to write a book with this person, but then decided against it. Did he get a panicked call from Bahrain, where Michael is currently living? We're just wondering.
