Jimmy Fallon Stars in the Book Trailer for His New Children's Book

Posted on June 8, 2015

Jimmy Fallon has made no secret of the fact that he loves being a dad to his two little girls: Winnie, who is nearly two years old and Frances, who is five months old. When Winnie was born, Jimmy was determined that her first word would be "Dada." He would call every object she saw Dada, but nothing worked.

He decided to write a children's book about his experiences and naturally it has a humorous take on his ridiculous efforts to get her to say Dada. His book is called, Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada.

The book explores dads' silly campaigns to get their babies to say their name first, using a series of animals to illustrate how ineffective Jimmy's technique was. A daddy duck says to his baby duck "Dada!" "Quack," replies the baby duck. A daddy dog says to his puppy, "Dada!" The puppy replies "Woof!" A daddy cat says to the kitten, "Dada!" but the kitten replies "Meow!"

No species of dad is able to fool his offspring into saying Dada first. But that's okay. Miguel Ordonez's illustrations are cute and clever, and they are a perfect accompaniment to Jimmy's sense of humor.

The book will be published by the MacMillan imprint Feiwel and Friends. It will hit stores on June 9th. Here's Jimmy reading the book to a group of children in the book trailer for the title. See if you can spot the one kid who doesn't fit in. Take a look:
