J.K. Rowling Testifies During Phone Hacking Inquiry

Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling testified today at the British phone hacking scandal. Jo told the panel of her anger and fear when she found that a journalist had slipped a note inside the school bag of her five year old daughter. She also testified that she felt that she was held hostage by tabloid reporters, that they published photos of her daughter in a bathing suit, that they put her family under surveillance and published personal information that lead to threats against her family from unbalanced individuals. She said when a newspaper got ahold of a copy of her book before it was published, they blackmailed her offering not to spoil the story if she would sit for a photo shoot.
