John Hodgman Talks New Book, Shares Tips for Surviving the Coming Collapse of Civilization

Author and actor John Hodgman talked with The Wall Street Journal's Barbara Chai about his new book, That Is All, a handy reference guide for surviving the end of civilization. John explains that we all know that economic collapse is just around the corner, and that will be followed by rioting, looting and the end of the world. At that point the ancient and unspeakable Gods will return to drown the world in blood. Luckily, the one thing that won't actually happen is global warming, so that's good. John says his book is to help people prepare for this inevitable sequence of events. He tells you how to raise sperm whales and stock your survival bunker. The book includes a handy calendar count down to the end of the world. He also talks about what superpower he would choose to have and his favorite food trend (vegancannibalism).
On a slightly more serious note, he explains how he got the idea for this book. Then he explains that you need to buy the hardcover edition of his book, because the world will end just before the audiobook version is released. We love John Hodgman: whether he's doing commentary on The Daily Show or playing Jason Schwartzman's literary nemesis on HBO's Bored to Death, he's always hilarious. Take a look:
