Judy Blume Helps Seth Meyers With His Embarrassing Problem

Posted on September 19, 2015

Judy Blume is currently touring to promote her new adult novel In the Unlikely Event and she stopped by The Late Show to chat with Seth Meyers. She has sold millions of books, but she will always be known as the author of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, which helped young girls make the transition to being a woman.

Her books were regularly banned in the 1970s and 1980s, although they are censored less so now she told Seth. In fact she says that today's parents are even worse than those in the 80s saying, "Parents are getting even more cuckoo even than they were then" about what they will allow their children to read and what they censor.

Knowing that she was going to be on the show, Seth and his older, male crew were eager to get advice from Ms. Blume about their own changing bodies. They exhibited shame and embarrassment over these shocking changes, but Judy did not let them down. She answered with her trademark wisdom and body acceptance advice. Well, except for Seth. She wasn't very sympathetic towards him at all. It's really funny, take a look:
