Karin Slaughter to Publish Nonfiction Crime Series with HarperCollins

Posted on April 10, 2014

Karin Slaughter, author of the Grant County, Atlanta and Georgia series, will publish a nonfiction crime series with HarperCollins. The series of shorts tell the stories of the FBI's Most Wanted. HarperCollins says Slaughter will curate the series, selecting appropriate writers, and write the introduction to each book. The shorts will be published every month in ebook format starting in Spring 2015. They will later be publishing in a compilation in ebook and book form.

Slaughter says in a statement, "I have always been fascinated by the stories that lie within the FBI files and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to re-tell them. I grew up on true crime classics such as Truman Capote's iconic In Cold Blood and Ann Rule's masterful The Stranger Beside Me, and I've always believed that true-life stories and meticulous research lie at the heart of great crime/thriller writing. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to branch out with the Most Wanted project - and hope that readers worldwide will be as fascinated and gripped by the stories as I am. I'm hugely excited to be embarking on the new project, and to be working again with my long term editor, Kate Elton, at HarperCollins."
