Katherine Goldstein Named Editor of VF.com

Posted on May 13, 2014

Katherine Goldstein has been named editor of Vanity Fair's website, VF.com. The announcement was made by Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair. Goldstein is currently Director of Traffic and Social Media for Slate. She was the editor of Huffington Post's green section prior to joining Slate in 2010. Goldstein's first day with Vanity Fair will be June 9.

Carter says in the announcement, "Katherine's interests run the gamut from photojournalism to digital media to climate change, and I very much look forward to bringing her point of view to VF.com. As I understand it, she will also serve as our introduction to indie-rock royalty."

Goldstein is married to Travis Morrison, lead singer of Dismemberment Plan, which explains the indie-rock comment. She will report to digital director Mike Hogan. The company says she will "oversee original content initiatives, develop the site's editorial voice, and identify new opportunities for growth." Vanity Fair says Slate's traffic tripled under Goldstein's leadership.
