Kevin Hart Inks Memoir Deal With Simon and Schuster's 37 Ink

Posted on March 23, 2016

Kevin Hart inked a deal with Simon and Schuster to publish a memoir which will be released on Father's Day, 2017. The book will be called From the Hart and will be published under the 37 Ink imprint, which is part of the Atria Publishing Group. The memoir will take a look at how Hart made the journey from growing up with a drug-addicted father in Philadelphia to being an internationally popular comedian and movie star.

On his Twitter page, Hart describes himself this way: "My name is Kevin Hart and I WORK HARD!!! That pretty much sums me up!!! Everybody Wants To Be Famous But Nobody Wants To Do The Work." He does work hard and it has paid off.

His international What Now comedy tour has grossed $100 million. He is the first comedian to sell out an NFL stadium, selling 50,000 tickets or just one show. He regularly sells out every venue in which he plays. Hart has successfully made the jump to feature films, with hits such as Ride Along and Ride Along 2. His next film is the action comedy Central Intelligence which co- stars Dwayne Johnson.

Hart said of his new project, "My kids know I'm a big deal. They’re very aware. I let them know every day, I say, 'Look, daddy's a big deal.' Now I'll have a book out to prove it." One of our favorite interviews with Kevin is when he and Jerry Seinfeld drove around in a 1959 Porsche RSK Spyder for a "weird male date" as part of Jerry's internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.
