Karlie Kloss to Relaunch Life Magazine at Bedford Media

Posted on March 28, 2024

Life Magazine is coming back to life. It will be relaunched by Bedford Media where Karlie Kloss is the CEO. Her husband, Joshua Kushner, will be the publisher of Life.

Bedford, a new media holding company, will return Life as a print magazine through a deal with Dotdash Meredith. Bedford will manage the full operations for the relaunched magazine.

Bedford Media CEO Karlie Kloss says in a statement, "We see Life as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape. While Bedford is a new media company, we are deeply inspired by Life's iconic legacy and ability to connect diverse audiences with universal narratives of humanity.."

Life publisher Kushner says, "Life's legacy lies in its ability to blend culture, current events, and everyday life—highlighting the triumphs, challenges, and unique perspectives that define us."

Bedford has the publication rights to Life but Dotdash Meredith will continue to own the full rights to the Lifee photography and content archives dating back to the 1930s. Dotdash Meredith will also continue to publish its single-topic special interest magazines for the Life brand available on newsstands.

The New York Post reports that Bedford will soon start hiring editorial staff for the new Life. It could start publishing as soon as next year.

Bedford also recently acquired i-D Magazine and plans to relaunch it as a print magazine this fall.
