Posted on June 10, 2005
Vetz Magazine is a new lifestyle magazine for the veterinary profession. Formerly Veterinaryindustry.com Magazine, Vetz Magazine launches with its May "Practice Management" issue with a focus on lifestyle and practice. The magazine's main point of difference is summed up in their vision statement: Your life. Your practice. The magazine's mission is to discuss forward-thinking issues and the challenges facing veterinarians today at work as well as at home. Vetz Magazine is published by Main Street Publishing Group located at 608 Hampton Drive, Venice, California, 90291.
Vetz said it will provide information about technology, gadgets, books, resources and business. The magazine features advice from experts including financial guru Suze Orman; management inspiration and expert Stephen R. Covey; Peter Weinstein, DVM, MBA; Philip Homsey, II, Esq.; Larry McCormick, DVM, MBA; David McCormick, MS; Tom McFerson, CPA, ABV and Wendy S. Myers.
Vetz Magazine will be circulated four times a year climbing to eight issues a year in 2006. The next issue will be summer 2005 and dubbed "The Technology Issue." Vetz Magazine is also announced the launch of Vetzmagazine.com where veterinarians and staff members can find breaking news, product announcements, company announcements and issues of the month sent from peers in the industry.
Vetz Magazine Publisher Stephen May commented on the launch in an editorial: "One interesting fact that you have made clear is that while veterinary medicine continues to advance, so does the veterinarian's entire lifestyle. Change can be a good thing; however keeping up with life's challenges, family commitments, personal health, and daily veterinary practice is ongoing. VETZ magazine evolves from our desire to provide a comprehensive, one-stop source for inspiration and information. In VETZ magazine we will provide insight for practitioners on the combination of practice management and serious life issues that only a veterinarian experiences. VETZ magazine will present a format that is concise and solution driven."
