USA Today reports that several popular fiction novelists are now offering cookbooks containing their favorite recipes. Literary novelist and poet Maya Angelou has written Hallelujah! The Welcome Table, in which she explains key moments in her life and the recipes that played a role.

She's not the only author busy penning books with recipes. Author Adriana Trigiani provides some Italian recipes in Cooking With My Sisters: One Hundred Years of Family Recipes From Bari to Big Stone Gap. The Prince of Tides author Pat Conroy has written The Pat Conroy Cookbook: Recipes of My Life. And novelist Jan Karon, author of the Mitford novels has written Jan Karon's Mitford Cookbook & Kitchen Reader: Recipes From Mitford Cooks, Favorites Tales From Mitford Books.
