M. Night Shyamalan's Secret Revealed in Documentary

Posted on July 21, 2004

The promotions for the SCI FI Channel's recent "documentary" about Director M. Night Shyamalan's "mysterious secret" had everyone abuzz with speculation about the skeletons in the director's closet. A sordid sex scandal? Nude photos? Some kind of mental breakdown? What did the documentary crew discover? Of course, it all turned out to be a big hoax -- SCI FI and Shyamalan never had a falling out over the invasion of his privacy by the film crew. And Shyamalan, as far as we know, is perfectly sane and has never posed in the buff. Journalists were pretty peeved with SCI FI, however, because they all ran promos for the feature as news.

"Those guys are awesome," Shyamalan said in an interview while promoting his upcoming film The Village. "Those guys are awesome at SCI FI Channel. They're really kind of ballsy, creative people. I really dig them."
