Madonna Overcomes Writer's Block to Pen Children's Books

Posted on June 23, 2005

It can now be revealed that Madonna, who is legendary for her strict discipline when it comes to diet, exercise and touring, has suffered from a terrible case of writer's block. The author of five bestselling children's books revealed that she battled writer's block with each and every book.

Contact Music reports that Madonna used a six month gap between the books to overcome a creative block. Madonna says, "It didn't come easily. I'm methodical, so I set aside time to sit at my computer - of course, in the time that the children are at school-- for four hours every day, but nothing came out.

She received a helpful tip from her husband Guy Ritchie. He told her, "Write what you know about, and it will come, and then you edit out the bits you don't like."

Her most recent book is Lotsa de Casha, a fable about how money can't buy happiness. She just agreed to write a sequel to her first book, The English Roses, because that book is her daughter Lourdes' favorite.
