Marcia, Marcia, Marcia...Writes A Book
Posted on September 6, 2007
Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia on The Brady Bunch, is writing a memoir in which she reveals her darkest secrets. The new book will be published by HarperCollins and will be titled Here's the Story. Maureen will reveal her lifelong struggles with drugs, eating disorders and depression.
"I've learned that overcoming my demons and weathering the tumultuous storms of my life is a process," McCormick said. "I have come to terms with the fact that though I may never completely win this battle, I will never lose. I have arrived, for the moment at least, in a solid and secure place, which is allowing me to visit my past without fear. Writing this book has been such a cathartic experience. I hope it will not only shed light on who I am and how I got here, but more importantly, remind the readers that there truly is a light at the end of any tunnel."
Maureen O'Brien, executive editor and part of Lisa Sharkey's creative development team at HarperEntertainment, made the deal with Dan Strone of Trident Media.
"Maureen McCormick was one of America's top teen role models, admired by millions, but few knew of the incredibly horrific secrets she kept and deeply traumatic experiences she endured," O'Brien said of the star's life story. "This autobiography will be a remarkably cautionary tale and inspirational wake up call for today's celebrity youth culture."
Marcia was miserable all that time -- who knew? She always looked so perfect and happy.
