Mariah Carey to Publish Children's Book Based on Her Popular Christmas Song

Posted on October 31, 2015

Mariah Carey is publishing a children's book based on her popular holiday song, "All I Want For Christmas Is You." The book, being published by Doubleday Books for Young Readers, has the same title as the hit Christmas song she co-wrote with Walter Afanasieff. The song, which has become a holiday classic, is from her 1994 album, Merry Christmas.

The children's book follows the story of one young girl and her Christmas wish for a puppy to call her own. Puppies are always on the little girl's mind. She can be seen drawing pictures of adorable puppies. She also makes puppy cookies, a puppy snowman, and has dreams of owning a puppy. The girl makes a visit to Santa Clause and remains hopeful that Santa will bring the one gift she has asked for.

Mariah Carey says in a statement, "When I wrote 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' it was my dream for it to become a classic Christmas song. I am so proud of the song's impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year. I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book."

The book is illustrated by Colleen Madden. It will arrive in stores on November 10th. It is available for pre-order on Amazon.com. Here is the music video for "All I Want for Christmas is You" from 1994. Take a look:
