Posted on November 15, 2012

Martha Grimes is moving to Scribner. She was previously with Viking. Scribner announced it has signed a three book deal with the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Grand Master. Scribner also acquired ebook rights to nineteen of Grimes' previous novels.

Grimes said in a statement, "I'm looking forward to being published by Scribner, home of some of the most important authors in American literature."

Grimes' first book with Scribner in the three-book contract is Double Double, a memoir written with her son Kent Holland that recounts their parallel descent into and recovery from alcoholism. It will be published in June 2013. The second book, The Way of All Fish, is the follow up to Foul Matter, and will be published in fall 2013. In summer 2014, Scribner will publish Vertigo 42, the twenty-third book in Grimes' bestselling Richard Jury mystery series.
