Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge will keynote the National Academy of Songwriters (NAS) Expo 21, a conference in North America for songwriters, musicians, bands, producers, and music-industry professionals. Etheridge, an NAS Gold Member, will deliver the address on Saturday, Oct. 3. Tickets are available to the general public by calling NAS at 323/463-7178.
NAS will present Expo 21 on Oct. 3 and 4 at the Musicians Institute, 1655 McCadden Place in Hollywood. Noted industry professionals will host classes, panels and workshops to help aspiring songwriters and established professionals gain knowledge and insight into writing, recording, publishing, pitching and getting paid.
The Expo also presents a unique opportunity for songwriters to network and participate in "one on one" mentoring sessions. Further, a special Expo Acoustic Underground showcase will occur on Saturday evening at Luna Park in West Hollywood.
NAS is a nonprofit organization that educates and protects songwriters. Members include Bob Dylan, Babyface, Vince Gill, Diane Warren, Madonna, Quincy Jones, Joan Baez, Bono, as well as hundreds of other professionals and thousands of aspiring songwriters.
