MSNBC.com has announced the launch of MSNBC Russia, an online news website produced and written in the Russian language for regional Russian users. MSNBC Russia is the latest in a series of international news site launches including MSNBC Germany, MSNBC in Taiwan and MSNBC in Brazil.

"The MSNBC.ru site enables Russian users to more easily discover the breadth and depth of content available on the MSNBC.com site as well as providing extensive local news and immediate updates for breaking news," said John Nicol, general manager of MSNBC.com. "As the leader in online news, MSNBC's expansion into international markets has been met with wide enthusiasm."

MSNBC.ru is modeled after MSNBC.com and provides national and international news 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The MSNBC.ru website publishes Russian translations of the top headline stories form MSNBC.com. Additionally, the MSNBC.ru Web site includes four basic parts: "Peredovitsa" (Editorial), "Tekhnologii" (Technology), "Biznes" (Business) and "Zdorovie" (Health).

Content partners with MSNBC.ru include ZDNet's Russian site, Algorithm news agency, CompuTerra Online, Ezhe (a "commonwealth of online periodicals"), Internet magazine, GoNets news agency, Russky Zhurnal (Russian Magazine) and Gazeta.ru.
