The official website for Agatha Christie will debut this fall, it was announced by MysteryNet and Agatha Christie Ltd. The official Agatha Christie website will be produced by MysteryNet, a publisher of online mysteries and mystery websites.

Agatha Christie is the #1 name in mystery worldwide. A recent study showed the remarkable continuing popularity and universal recognition of the Agatha Christie name. Outsold worldwide only by the Bible and Shakespeare, Agatha Christie books and short stories attract a broad audience of all ages. Her characters' popularity spans all entertainment media from books to television, movies and plays, including the longest continuously running play of all time, The Mousetrap, which continues to draw audiences in London today. More than 2 billion Agatha Christie novels have been sold since the author released her first title, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, in 1920.

MysteryNet's Official Agatha Christie website will launch on MysteryNet this Fall and will feature online adaptations of Agatha Christie short stories, information about the author and her characters, online reading groups, message boards and other interactive features to foster a community for Agatha Christie enthusiasts. The site will also feature a store where Internet users can buy Agatha Christie videos, puzzles, books and other official Agatha Christie merchandise.

Steve Schaffer, founder and CEO of MysteryNet, commented, "Like no other genre, mysteries involve readers and viewers with suspenseful twists and plots. MysteryNet's network of Web sites offers an environment where viewers can participate in their entertainment and interact with a community of people with similar interests, which draws them back again and again." Schaffer continued, "We are very excited to create a new media platform for Agatha Christie on MysteryNet."
